Depending upon the size of the project, many times we can more than pay for our design fees with the savings by going to bid. Ask most Architectural firms their preference and because they require timely and accurate drawings and documentation, they prefer an independent consultant. Another import factor is that the AV equipment specified for a project as Design Bid, is not influenced by what is on a stock shelf and or what dealership commitments that exist in most Design Build firms.
